Because the eligibility can transfer with the home at resale, GMEA status offers a distinctive lifestyle benefit today while adding potential value for future owners.
FAQS ABOUT GOLF MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBLE ADDRESSES (GMEA)
A Golf Membership Eligible Address (GMEA) Membership is a transferable Bear Mountain Golf Club membership reserved for eligible Bear Mountain properties, including qualifying Ecoasis properties and addresses with an existing GMEA Membership. The membership is associated with the eligible property and can provide an added benefit when the property is sold.
Owners who want to preserve their GMEA Membership without activating golf privileges may maintain it as a dormant membership. Initiation fees must be paid in full and a monthly dormant fee of $40 applies. Dormant memberships do not include golf privileges, although owners may still play by paying applicable green fees. Active membership dues are separate and subject to change annually.
GMEA availability and terms may vary between new Ecoasis real estate projects and promotional offerings. Eligible purchasers may have the opportunity to purchase or receive a GMEA Membership while quantities are available. A Bear Mountain property without an existing GMEA designation does not automatically provide the opportunity to purchase one.
When a GMEA property is sold, the membership may be transferred to the new homeowner. The current transfer cost is 10% of the prevailing initiation fee. A golf membership may also be transferred once to a direct family member or, through the GMEA program, assigned to an eligible Bear Mountain property.
Membership levels are managed to maintain the quality of the Bear Mountain golf experience. Rights and protections associated with a GMEA Membership are governed by the membership contract.
